What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit an enquiry, request a charter quote, join an interest list or make a reservation, we collect the details you type: your name, email address, phone number, the organisation you represent where relevant, group size, and anything you write in a message field. We collect this because we cannot answer you without it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit — the pages you view, the approximate region you are visiting from, the type of device and browser you use, and the link or advertisement that brought you here. This is used to understand which pages are useful and which advertising is worth paying for.

Payment information

We never see or store your card number. Deposits and balances are taken by our payment provider on their own systems. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and which booking it belongs to.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to function. Others measure how the site is used and how our advertising performs.

The Meta pixel

We use the Meta pixel, a piece of code provided by Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram). It tells us when someone who saw one of our advertisements later visited a page, viewed a trip, started a booking or submitted an enquiry. It also allows us to show our advertisements again to people who have already visited the site.

Where you submit your email address through a form on this site, that address may be converted into an irreversible scrambled value and shared with Meta so they can tell whether you are the same person who saw our advertisement. Your actual email address is not transmitted — only the scrambled value, which cannot be turned back into your address.

Meta uses this information under its own terms. You can review and change what Meta collects about you in your Facebook or Instagram settings under Settings → Accounts Centre → Your information and permissions.

Turning it off

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a private or incognito mode. Blocking cookies will not stop you from booking a trip. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info or through your device's advertising settings.

How we use what we collect

We use your information to answer your enquiry, to price and arrange your travel, to take payment, to send you the details of a trip you asked about, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We measure our advertising so we do not waste money showing it to people who do not want it.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the suppliers who are needed to deliver your trip — airlines, hotels, motorcoach operators, our payment provider and our email provider — and only the specific details each of them needs.

Marketing email

If you ask us about a trip, we will email you about that trip. Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link, and using it stops them immediately. You can also reply to any message and ask to be removed, or email reservations@busandplane.com.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that never become bookings are kept for up to two years, because travel decisions are often made a year or more ahead. Booking and payment records are kept for seven years to satisfy tax and accounting requirements. You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.

Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you. Email reservations@busandplane.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live — including residents of California and of the European Union and United Kingdom — you may have additional rights, and we will honour them.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Where we arrange student and educational travel, information about a minor traveller is provided to us by that traveller's school, parent or guardian rather than by the child.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection and enquiry data is held in access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but we do not hold card numbers, which is the information most worth stealing.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
